Services
Surface and borehole geophysics
Seismic refraction, ERT, MASW/MAM and seismic hazard studies; gyroscope surveys, OPTV/BHTV televiewers, sonic logging and caliper in drill holes.
Our state-of-the-art equipment characterizes the subsurface and the inside of drill holes, delivering an operationally reliable service that complements geotechnical investigations and detailed engineering.
Service scope
Surface geophysics
- Seismic refraction to determine the mechanical properties of soil layers.
- Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) to identify soil and rock layers, groundwater or contaminants.
- Multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW) and microtremor array measurements (MAM) to obtain shear wave velocity (Vs) profiles.
- Seismic hazard studies in accordance with Peruvian standard E.030.
Borehole geophysics
- Drill hole trajectory surveys with a digital gyroscope (azimuth and dip).
- Structural orientation with optical (OPTV) and acoustic (BHTV) televiewers: high-resolution oriented images to orient joints, faults, veins and dikes from 1 mm, in dry or fluid-filled holes with dips from −45° to −90°.
- Sonic logging to determine in-situ compressional and shear velocities (Vp and Vs) and rock mechanical properties, detect fractured zones and check cement quality.
- Average hole diameter measurement with a three-arm mechanical caliper probe.
Deliverables
- Geotechnical logs with detailed, oriented structural information.
- Structure classification, fracture detection and evaluation, borehole deformation and lithological characterization.
